At least 3 killed in Mexican mudslide

mudslide in rain-soaked Mexico has killed at least three people, including two children, the government-run news agency said Wednesday.
The deaths happened late Tuesday in Magdalena Contreras, a town near Mexico City, the Notimex news agency reported. A drenched hill collapsed on some haphazardly built homes, the news service said.
The mudslide, which was the size of nearly two football fields, damaged several homes and destroyed one. The destroyed house also was struck by a tree that stood more than 30 feet high, Notimex said.
Two girls, 6 and 11 years old, and an adult male were inside the house and were killed, Notimex said.
Rescue officials and army personnel continued their work at the scene Wednesday morning, the news agency said.
It is a bad news to hear that another tragedy happened in Mexico. Moreover,The rain, which was still coming down Wednesday, has severely flooded at least 25 parts of the Federal District, which encompasses Mexico City. Dozens of other areas suffered less-severe flooding but still saw some traffic problems, Notimex said.
Heavy rain in the Mexican capital and surrounding areas in the past couple of weeks previously left at least two people dead and about 2,000 homes damaged.
